Summary:
|
On December 7th and 14th, 2018, Mt. Diablo Unified School District advertised a bid request for field renovations at Oak Grove Middle School pursuant to PCC §20111.6. The scope included grading and replacement of irrigation on the field, planting improvements, removal and replacement of benches, concrete edge bands along the fence and trench drain for the baseball field. The invitation to bid indicates the low bidder will be determined by the base bid amount only. The project has four (4) alternate components that were identified and priced in the bid. Alternates allow the District to pick and choose a combination best suited to the overall project within the budget. The alternates chosen to create the best value are numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 with details listed below.
Alternate #1 adds planting improvements (plants only – irrigation for all planting areas is included in the base bid) to the project to increase aesthetics.
Alternate #2 includes demolition and removal of existing player benches and installation of new in-ground benches to enhance the project.
Alternate #3 adds a concrete edge bands, in place of redwood at each backstop and fence line at 2 baseball fields.
Alternate #4 includes adding a trench drain, line, and basin at 1 baseball field for superior drainage.
Six (6) bid packages were received on February 1, 2019 and Goodland Landscape Construction Inc. is the low responsible bidder.
