Summary
:
Mt. Diablo Adult Education (MDAE) requests approval to enter into a contract with the Department of Developmental Services/Regional Center of the East Bay in order to receive a Home and Community Based Services Compliance Grant for $29,512.00 and to enter into a Home and Community Based Services Provider Agreement (attached) as well as a Home and Community Based Services Compliance Agreement (also attached).
Anticipated funding to be awarded is for cost of a part-time Adult Education instructor (18hrs. per week) for the 2018-2019 school year. The Adult Education instructor will promote and develop employment and on-the-job training opportunities as well as work transition support for students in MDAE’s Adults with Disabilities (AWD) Program. This grant funding will help ensure the Adult Education AWD Program’s compliance with new federal rules regarding Home and Community Based Services and that of California’s Employment First policy through implementation of the State-recommended practice of “Competitive Integrated Employment.”
Funding
:
Department of Developmental Services/Regional Center of the East Bay.
Fiscal Impact
:
There is no impact to the General Fund and no Adult Education matching funds required. Part-time instructional costs up to $29,512.00 to be paid out of Adult Education Home and Community Based Services Compliance Grant and any additional instructional costs to be paid out of Adult Education funds.
Recommendation
:
