Summary:
|
The Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) Electric Bus Incentive Grant would provide funding to help purchase eight new buses. Mt. Diablo Unified School District currently has eight school buses that are not in compliance. The DERA grant would help to replace the existing buses with new electrical buses. Removing these eight buses from the school district's fleet would in turn make eligible to access funding to improve infrastructure and replacement of additional buses. The total cost of the eight replacement buses would be $2,163,013. The total DERA grant is $2,003,013 and the one-time cost to MDUSD is $160,000.
