The Low Performing Student Block Grant is available to school districts with students identified as low-performing on the 2016-17 administration of the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) and who are not otherwise identified for supplemental grant funding under the Local Control Funding Formula or eligible for Special Education services. In order to utilize these funds, a plan must be adopted by the Board of Education describing how the funds will be used to increase the academic performance of students that generated the funds and how the effectiveness of services will be measured.
