Summary
:
The Speech Pathology Group is a non-public agency (NPA) that provides Speech and Language Pathology Services for school based services that are identified on Individual Education Plans (IEP's). When the district (MDUSD) is not able to fill all open positions with district employees, the use of contract agencies is necessary to ensure that we are in compliance with state and federal law that govern special education. Speech Pathology Group is a company that will be utilized to provide Speech Services to ensure that all of our needed Speech Services are covered for the 2018-2019 school year. MDUSD Personnel Department and Special Education continues to recruit and hire district employees.
Services have exceeded the current master contract amount of $735,000; staff seeks approval of an increase in the amount of $220,000.
Funding
:
Special Education Department Program Code 1219 Speech / Audiology
Fiscal Impact
:
The increased amount of $220,000 and is already included in the approved budget for the 2018-2019 school year.
Recommendation
:
Approve the increase to the master contract between Mt. Diablo Unified School District (MDUSD) and The Speech Pathology Group for the 2018-2019 school year.
