Summary: In December of 2017 the District issued an RFP to secure the services of a firm to develop a Facility Master Plan. Proposals were due by January 31, 2018. Six firms submitted proposals and three of the six received were determined to meet the District requirements for the proposed work. The three firms that submitted the qualified proposals included LPA, PBK, and SVA Architects. The second part of the selection process included an interview which was comprised of two panels, one for a community view point and one for a technical view point. The interview format included a presentation as well as a question and answer session. The three firms (LPA, PBK, and SVA Architects) were invited to interview, but one firm (SVA Architects) excused themselves from the process. Following the interviews, both panels convened, discussed their results and the panels agreed that LPA was the firm to recommend for the contract. Therefore, the District will recommend at a future Board Meeting that LPA be awarded the contract to develop a Facility Master Plan for the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. The cost for this award is $742,500. LPA will provide a brief presentation on their services and the Facility Master Plan proposed for MDUSD.
