Summary:
|
The District's facility master plan was last updated in 2006 and in 2010 District staff completed a physical plant assessment. The District has since experienced several changes in enrollment, educational needs and facility needs. A current facility master plan will provide a comprehensive needs assessment that the District can use to prioritize projects and apply resources accordingly. As presented at the May 21, 2018, Board of Trustees Meeting, the District issued a Request For Proposal to secure the services of a firm to develop a Facility Master Plan. Of the three proposals considered, LPA was the firm recommended by the selection committees. The cost and time required to complete the Facility Master Plan is $742,500 and approximately 1 year, respectively. In consideration of uncertainties regarding potential financings, the District is recommending a two phase approach. The first, Phase I will commence in the summer of 2018 and will include the data collection component and a facility needs assessment. Phase I is proposed to be completed in the fall of 2018. The fee for Phase 1 is $377,500. Once Phase 1 is completed, the District will make a determination if it is feasible to proceed with Phase II. Phase II is proposed to commence in late November of 2018 and will focus on long range planning. A recommendation for awarding LPA Phase II of the Facility Master Plan will be submitted for approval at a future Board of Trustees Meeting. In the event the District does not move forward with Phase II, Phase I will be utilized to prioritize immediate facility needs based on the District's existing resources.
