Summary:
The current textbook is outdated and does not reflect changes in the AP Government AP test. The teachers on the committee reviewed two texts. The texts were scored for content, instructional program and assessment as well as supplemental materials online support, and quality of formative assessments. The recommended text is: American Politics Today (Bianco, Canon, Norton). Comments about this text included: "The supplemental resources are malleable to customize for students at differing reading levels and with variable levels of required support (i.e. EL, LTEL, SPED). The supplemental materials are online and easily reproducible. Course required Primary Sources are included. Test banks are included for summative assessments and chapter review include multiple choice and free response questions for formative assessments."

The text will be available for public review and comment in the Dent lobby and at Willow Creek Center until June 8, 2018.
