Summary:
Pursuant to Public Contract Code § 20111 and § 20112, the MDUSD publicly advertised for potential contractors to perform the work described as Tennis Court Renovations. The scope included the tennis courts at three high school sites: College Park, Concord High, and Northgate. An engineer's estimate was not provided as a component of the bid request. One bid in the amount of $2,698,000 was received in response to the solicitation and after review of all provided documentation the bid from Duran & Venables, Inc. was deemed responsible. On February 26, 2018, the board approved an allocation of $2,826,287 for the renovations and the bid submitted by Duran & Venables is for $2,698,000 which is $128,287 under the approved allocation.
