Summary:

The California Education Code ยงยง 17527 et seq. authorizes a school district to enter into joint use agreements for the rental or lease of classrooms or other buildings, as long as the joint-use does not interfere with the educational program or activities. The District entered into a Real Property Lease Agreement with Dianne Adair Day Care Center for providing before and after-school child care services for the purpose of operating a youth center. As the current Agreements have expired, Dianne Adair is essentially operating as a holdover tenant. Accordingly, the District proposes to enter into a new Joint Use Agreement and Real Property Lease, based on a determination that the attached Agreements are compatible with the educational purpose of each site. The term for these Agreements is from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028, with an additional two (2) one year renewal options each year for a total of five (5) years.
