Summary
:
Education Code Section 17546 allows for disposal and/or donation of property no longer needed or that is determined not suitable for school use. Items to be considered for disposal will have no salable value. Items determined to have a salable value will be brought to the board for approval prior to disposal via sale, auction or donation to charitable organizations.
CEWS is a California corporation for e-waste pickup and wiping clean of all sensitive devices. CEWS has expanded from an R2 to an R2V3 Certification. This allows more security for data bearing devices and proper electronic disposal services (E-waste will not be disposed of in landfills).
