Summary:
|
On May 2, 2025, Mt. Diablo Unified School District issued a public notice for Request for Proposal (RFP) #1957 seeking qualified vendors to provide Charter Bus SPAB (School Pupil Activity Bus) Transportation Services. The scope of the RFP includes providing transportation for sporting events, field trips, and other pupil activity trips that the District is unable to accommodate with internal resources. The intent is to establish a pool of pre-qualified vendors available on an as-needed basis.
The District received six proposals by the submission deadline of May 22, 2025. The proposals were evaluated by a selection committee against the criteria set forth in the RFP. Four of the proposals met or exceeded all requirements and were determined to be the most responsive and responsible submissions.
Staff recommends awarding RFP #1957 to the following four vendors to establish a service pool: Bauer’s Intelligent Transportation, Black Tie Transportation LLC, Santa Barbara Transportation Corp dba Student Transportation of America, and Whitecastle Tours Inc.
The initial contract term is for one year, from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. The agreement includes the option to renew for up to two (2) additional one-year terms, not to exceed a total term of three years, ending June 30, 2028, contingent upon satisfactory performance and available funding. Staff recommends Board approval of the contract awards to the aforementioned vendors.
