Summary:
|
In November 2019, MDUSD entered into a Contract with Contra Costa Community College, supporting implementation of the CCAP STEM Grant. The initial contract was to support development of a 9-14 STEM pathway, in partnership with Diablo Valley College (DVC). This STEM pathway provides an opportunity for students in the engineering pathway at Ygnacio Valley High School, to participate in dual enrollment classes aligned with DVC’s certificate and degree pathways in Manufacturing/Engineering. The pathway also collaborates with industry partners to provide work based learning opportunities. The original Contract ended on 6/30/2024.
MDUSD requests approval of a Second Contract, expanding the term of the grant to the 2024-2025 school year. The focus for this expansion will be to fully expend the grant funds and plan for sustainability of the dual enrollment classes and the industry partnerships. The Second Contract extends the grant until 6/30/2025.
