Summary:
|
The EL and Dual Language Department is looking to continue building knowledge and best practices by providing our Dual Language teachers and administrators with high quality Professional Development with Dr. Jose Medina. Dr. Medina has previously worked with us here in Mt. Diablo and knows what we have done and where our areas of growth need to be. Our goal is to work with him in two cohorts: one cohort for educators who are new to our district and the other cohort would be for our experienced Dual Language educators who have already worked with him. Our proposal is to contract with Dr. Medina for our new teachers on 9/7, 10/5, 11/9 and 1/17/23 and for our veteran teachers on 10/6, 11/16 and 1/19/23. All of the aforementioned, would be half day trainings on Zoom and then our PD would culminate with Site Visits with Dr. Medina on 2/27/23 and 2/28/23. The total cost for 7 half day trainings and two full day site visits is $35,000.
Dr Medina charges $7,000 dollars a day in person and $6,000 dollars a day when it is online PD.
