Summary:
|
Mt. Diablo Unified School District (District) engaged in discussions with the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights, regarding the closure and re-opening of Holbrook School. As one result of those negotiations, the District agreed to have a written policy for any future school closures even though there are non currently planned. Although the Board has no imminent plan to close a school, staff recommends that the Board approve this policy which outlines a set of objective criteria to be used in the event of future school closure decisions.
