Summary:
|
The Measure C Bond Program was approved by voters on June 8, 2010 to support quality education and safety for local students by improving education facilities; upgrading classroom instructional technology; improving safety; maximizing energy efficiency including adding solar panels and modern air conditioning; and repairing, replacing, equipping or modernizing other school facilities.
In compliance with Proposition 39 and Education Code Section 15278 et seq., the District established a Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) to ensure accountability and transparency in the expenditure of bond funds.
The CBOC has fulfilled its duties by meeting regularly, reviewing financial and performance audits, and issuing annual reports to the public and the Board of Education.
Since all bond proceeds have been fully expended and the final audit has been completed and accepted, the statutory requirement for the committee’s existence has concluded.
The committee has no further responsibilities and has recommended its formal dissolution. The District offers it gratitude to the members of the committee.
