Summary:
Review and Potential Ratification of the Dual Language Immersion Grant (DLIG) Program for Holbrook Language Academy. The purpose of the Dual Language Immersion Grant (DLIG) is to expand or establish dual language immersion programs that provide integrated language learning and academic instruction for native speakers of English and native speakers of another language, with the goals of high academic achievement, first and second language proficiency, and cross-cultural understanding. MDUSD has applied for an "expansion" grant for Holbrook Middle School. The DLIB grant will pay for books, supplies and materials, assessments in Spanish and English, and professional development. The total amount of the grant is $200,000; over a three year period (7/1/22-6/30/25).
