Summary:
|
LEAs who accept Title I funds are expected to develop policies regarding comparability, program evaluation, and the revision process of the Local Education Agency (LEA) plan. Board Policy 6171 describes the coordination of these general categorical assurances to ensure that students from economically disadvantaged families are provided coordinated support. These restricted categorical funds are to provide supplemental services that reinforce the core curriculum and assist students in attaining proficiency on state academic standards and assessments.
District staff review policy to ensure continued alignment with state and federal regulations. The recommended changes bring this policy into better alignment with changes from No Child Left Behind (NCLB) to Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). |
