Summary:
|
Mt. Diablo Unified School District has been using School Loop to build and host most of our school websites, including the district website (www.mdusd.org). An initial contract has been in place with School Loop since 2009, and for a number of years it was subsidized through E-Rate funding. Recently, web hosting services became ineligible under E-Rate and the yearly School Loop subscription has been covered using the Technology & Information Systems budget. This year marks the first paid, multi-year contract covering the 2018-19 through 2020-21 school years. Our latest renewal includes significant visual and accessibility updates to the website templates available for publishing. With positive feedback for School Loop from schools, we are looking to renew via a multiyear contract with the following yearly subscription costs; $21,700 for 2018-19. $31,000 for 2019-20 and $40,300 for 2020-21 (total $93,000). Public Contract Code 20118.2 which allows a school district to consider, in addition to price, factors such as vendor financing, performance reliability, standardization, life-cycle costs, delivery timetables, support logistics, manufacturer’s warranties, and similar factors in the award of contracts for technology, telecommunications, related equipment, software, and services. The costs of migration and training were also considered in the decision to renew. |
