Summary:
|
As a result of the pandemic, we have had an influx of unilateral placements into private schools as public schools were closed and services were provided remotely. Investigating and defending our services is particularly challenging in the virtual classroom, leading to an increase in the number of non-public school placements across the district.
Additionally, the Assistant Director position has been vacant since early Fall 2022 and no qualified candiates have been able to be hired. The work associated with the vacant postiion has been assumed by an existing staff member, leading to the new job description to reflect the duties undertaken.
These positions are being created as part of a two step, cost neutral process
1- The elimination of one Assistant Director position and the creation of this postiion, resulting in a cost savings of approximately $12,500 to the District.
2- The elimination of one Assistant Director position and the creation of a Special Education Director position resulting in a cost increase of approximately $11,266 to the District. |
